Partners
Partners works primarily with refugees and displaced people. The Karen
come from Burma, a country torn by 50 years of war inflicted by a brutal
military regime. There are more than 200,000 refugees in camps along
the Thai-Burma border and more than 1 million internally displaced people
on the run inside Burma.
The regime carries out systematic repression of the people of Burma,
including ongoing ethnic cleansing campaigns against minority
groups and pro-democracy
groups. They oppress the population with random arrests, extra-judicial
killings, rape, forced labor and military service, torture, burning
of villages, stealing food and land, and destruction of the environment.
There are more than 50,000 child soldiers in Burma, more than any other country
in the world.
The people of Burma suffer terribly and Partners works to ease their pain, aid
them in survival, and help them to keep the hope that is found in God.

Lifewater
International
Lifewater
International (LI) is a Christian training organization with water development goals. We understand
the basic need in our world for safe water, improved hygiene, and
adequate sanitation. We believe that the solutions to these problems
can be addressed through the development of local communities. Qualified
Lifewater Volunteer Trainers (VTs) travel to developing countries
to train nationals to improve local drinking water supplies and community
health. National crews are able to continue working and training others
after VTs return home. They share the gospel message of living water
with communities as they help break the cycle of disease and poverty.
Today,
Lifewater has over 250 active VTs from many professional backgrounds,
including teachers, small business owners, hydro-geologists, engineers,
environmental scientists, and marketing specialists, to name a few.
Our VTs have served on over 50 projects on five continents around the
world. Since 1979, VTs and Lifewater-trained crews have installed 2,500
water systems and helped serve an estimated one million people with
safe water.

Aglow
International
Aglow
International is a trans-denominational organization of Christian women with more than 4,000
local groups in 164 nations of the world. It is one of the largest
international women's organizations with over 1,100 local groups in
the U.S. alone. Aglow reaches an estimated 2 million women each month
through local groups -- the heart of the organization.
Small
group studies, care (support) groups, retreats, and annual conferences
make up the Aglow year. Two foundational pillars of the organization,
prayer, and outreach with the Good News, are supported with tangible
responses to need: Gifts of clothing, food, housecleaning, and babysitting.
Aglow women reach out to their communities in many directions: To women
in prison, in senior homes, inner city neighborhoods, and mental institutions;
to single moms, as well as to the average woman next door who may need
a cup of tea and a good chat with a friend.

Operation
Christmas Child
Operation
Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through
gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. This program
of Samaritan’s Purse provides an opportunity for people of all ages
to be involved in a simple, hands-on missions project while focusing
on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ, God’s greatest gift.
Along with shoe box gifts, millions of children are given Gospel booklets
in their own language. In 2004, we collected over 7 million shoe box
gifts worldwide and distributed them to children in 95 countries.
