Debt Free - One Foot at a Time Campaign:
Financing for the building was provided by a caring philanthropist
in Fairbanks who loaned the money interest-free. In 2006 the donor requested
repayment of those funds, causing the Church to having to refinance
the loan, which it has done. The interest payments alone are $12,000
per month. However, the overriding goal of the Church is to be able
to devote the maximum amount of its resources to directly meeting the
needs of the community. To that end, we are kicking off its “Debt-Free
One Foot at a Time” campaign to repay this debt - $2.2 million
in as short a time as possible, hopefully three years or less.
To put this ambitious goal into
manageable pieces, we came up with an amount per square foot of the
Church building’s footprint - $55 per square foot. This allows
just about anyone with a desire even teenagers and younger - to
contribute. You can own part of your church. You can buy as many feet
as you like. You will even receive a deed of your ownership. Other opportunities
are available to buy an entire room and even name a room. We will be
in the foyer before and after church each Sunday to answer questions
or take pledges and donations. Your prayers and support are needed and
appreciated.
I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. Joshua
